The other day I was playing pool and after the break I realized I couldn't find the eight ball. It went in the side pocket, so I won!

I once couldn't find my second husband for several weeks and then got a postcard from Reno and knew he hadn't been misplaced at all. Wasn't nearly as expensive as replacing a dinner set.

Today (yesterday at this point), I tuned in Live on Five and saw your video on Mentor where I live. It really hit home with me, and it will be 20 years for me as a Mentor resident come late April. I would also like to see you visit Willoughby, particularly the downtown area. There is a Bed and Breakfast on Spaulding Ave. there by the library, and also you can visit Burgers and Beer, just to name a few.

SandiG-don't you mean the cultural descendence of reality shows? I totally agree with you when you're referring to the public figures that should be old enough to know better.

Being called "the tree city" is an understatement when you talk about Kent. The trees this time of year are really pretty and the downtown area has tried to keep its vintage look that it had back in the early 1900s. You can have dinner at the Puffer belly which used to be the old railroad depot or you can stroll through the university and walk around the hills. You can also just go to downtown Kent almost any night and hear a blues band, a wide diversity of music and arts in a small town that is a great place for kids to grow up. The parks are really something to see and hang out in. We welcome you there Lee Jordan

I guess it will be far behind in the voting, but my favorite local town is Chardon. I know, it's the snowbelt center of NE Ohio, but the town square is very attractive and has always brought me fond memories of days gone by when my son and I once spent many days hiking the steep hills and enjoying the exhilarating winter storms and knee-deep snowfalls. I suppose all that is especially poignant these days, now that he is gone from my life, but Chardon will always occupy a warm place in my heart.

I have to agree with Dan to some extent. For about the past eight years (only coincidentally associated with the previous Presidential reign, I'm sure), the cultural ascendance of the "reality show" phenomenon in the media seems to have led to a pervasive acceptance of inappropriate and uncivilized conduct in public. What's interesting about it is that much of the repulsive behavior we're seeing is displayed, not by people too young to have been exposed to long-established social standards and norms, but by public figures old enough to know better. I think that speaks to the great power that various broadcast media wield in our society.

I think the media is a little bit to blame when it comes to people's devious behavior. They say that bad publicity is better than no publicity at all and people live by that. I don't like to mention names, but look at Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, Roman Polanski, like I said-I don't like to mention names but I couldn't control myself!!!

More and more it seems like people are making major errors in judgment just to be noticed. They say that bad publicity and good publicity is better than no publicity when it comes to these celebrities like Paris Hilton or better yet stars like Michael Richards, (Kramer on Seinfeld) have made major mistakes on stage that have cost them their careers at least for now. I don't know if the lack of scruples that should have been instilled on young people by their parents is more at fault or that technology is even more to blame because it's so easy to reach out to people that don't want to be reached. Shock jocks like Howard Stern to me are even more to blame because the public hears this and thinks it's OK to be a big mouth and to badmouth everyone. Seriously, the question that was always asked was "what is this world coming to
